Draft

Happy Day This and Thatters!  How are you? I was reviewing some of the posts I've written and noticed that I had 13 posts in the draft section of this blog.  As I went to review them I realized why they were still in there :) See I often get inspired and will write two and three posts at a time.  I often save them and space them out.  That's why sometimes I'm asking you about your weekend on a Thursday, I need an editor!!  Some of these posts don't get published because they're deeply personal and I'm not sure I'm ready to put them out there just yet.  Some need more work or thought to them and others need to make their way to the trash can, know what I'm sayin? Sometimes I wish that life was just like writing and you could keep the drafts in a little box until you were ready for them.  Wouldn't that be lovely?  I often wish I could do this with my big mouth as well.  :)  Mostly I realize that a girl needs the option to keep some...

What's What

How's your week treating you?  I loved waking up to cooler weather but as it goes in the south we end up in the 70s or 80s by lunch but that's ok.  At least fall is peaking it's head out from time to time.  I am super excited about this edition of what's what so please enjoy!  xoxo 1.  It's Christmas Card Time (well almost) I was beyond excited to see my fav stationary gal (Callie at callispondence) start talking about Christmas Cards!  She has the cutest, most unique designs and I was thrilled to go ahead and place my order.  I can't wait to send out my adorable cards.  Head over to calliespondence and check her out!  www.calliespondence.com 2.  Italian Soup I love making a big pot of soup on a Sunday afternoon.  This past Sunday I made some italian soup in honor of the RHONJ season finale.  The soup was fantastic and made for great leftovers!  Give it a try and let me know what you think. http://all...

My Life Class

How are all the this and thatters today?  I hope you're ready for today's entry because it is a little bit on the hippie side....you've been warned!  :)  I have to tell you that this past weekend I stumbled upon Oprah's Life Class on the OWN channel.  I was busy doing other things and had the TV on for background noise.  And let's be honest I wasn't at church and felt I needed a little spiritual uplifting, it was Sunday after all.  Very quickly I was siting down enamored by what the speaker and Oprah were discussing. Apparently I've been living under a rock because I had never heard of Bishop T.D. Jakes until this weekend.  The Bishop is not only a minister but also an author of several books.  What struck me was his raw and honest take on life and living on purpose.  The Bishop talked about several things that hit home with me.  First and foremost he talked about having talent.  That just because you are good at somet...

Journals

Do you keep a journal?  I have always kept one on and off.  One reason I started this blog is that I could keep an account of what was going on in my life.  Yesterday in between cleaning, cooking and getting ready for the week I unearthed my journal.  I have been keeping this one for about six years.  It was amazing to go back and read all the things that have changed or happened. For several years I prayed that God would send me the right man and to read my thoughts on the subject from years ago was amazing.  It made me appreciate the hubs all over again.  For years I wrote about wanting to have not just a wedding but a marriage and not just a husband but a partner and I thank God he answered my prayers. I struggle with a lot of the same issues now that I did back in 2006.  These challenges range from having proper boundaries with people, to making time for myself, to being good to myself, to not allowing others to impact how I feel....

How are you doing today?  I am pumped that it is Friday and the hubs and I are heading to Cville for the weekend.  I love staying with my bro-in-law and sis-in-law and spending some fun quality time with them.  Before we head out the door here's your edition of what's what, enjoy!  xoxo 1.  Tom's Burlap Ballet Flats Ok so I have a new obsession with Tom's...sue me :)  I ordered these adorable flats a while back and just got them in the mail this week and I am so in love with them!  They are super comfortable and look great with all my work clothes (since I am forced to wear flats now due to my boot).  2.  OPI's Black Cherry Chutney Polish I love getting my nails done!  If you know me you know that my nails are constantly polished.  Last year I was obsessed with Don't Know Jacques by OPI and this year it is Black Cherry Chutney.  It is the perfect fall/winter polish and will absolutely be in my rotation. ...

Slow It Down

How are all my favorites today? How amazing is this fall weather?!  I am loving it so much.  I have been sleeping with the windows open and sporting light jackets to the office....I LOVE FALL. Sadly I took another kind of fall that has left me in a walking boot for the next three weeks.  Don't be jealous you know how cute my boot is!  Haha Long story short I was helping out at a golf tournament and a golf cart went off the path.  In trying to get it back on the cart path it somehow landed on my foot causing me to break two toes and fracture part of my foot.....lovely!  And I wasn't drinking.  Everyone keeps asking me that and I was stone cold sober.  I did however partake afterwards to try and ease the pain.  :)  So I will be in a fashionable boot for the next three weeks until the doc decides what to do with me!  It is a bit difficult to maneuver but I am just glad not to be in crutches.  Being in this b...

Can't We All Get Along?

How are you today?  I hope you had a lovely weekend that prepared you for the week!   I got tons done and the hubs played golf on Sunday which allowed me to watch all my lovely reality shows that have been in the DVR all week.  The hubs got me U-verse with DVR a few weeks ago and it has been life changing.  What did I do without DVR? On Saturday I ran a ton of errands around Norcross.  When I was kissing the hubs goodbye (as he was glued to the TV for 10 plus hours watching college football) he warned me that people might say something about the t-shirt I was wearing.   See I was wearing a t-shirt that said the Presidential candidate name I plan to vote for on it and the year 2012, I bought it online (I'm not telling you who as that isn't the point).   The hubs warned me that people might say things to me about it.  To be honest I hadn't even thought about it.   As I made my first stop at TJ Maxx I have to admit I was self conscious, ...
