A little bit of this...and that

Summer is here and it's so exciting!!!  I have been ready for summer, slower days and easier schedules.  I feel like I relax a little bit more this time of year.  However, this summer has had a different flavor for us.  As most of you know we have moved out of our home and are deep in the throws of renovation.   While, renovating was always our plan and I had a clear picture in my end of the finished product I didn't really think about moving out of our home and staying in an apartment while we were working on the house.   So people have messaged me about this process and so I figured I would just do a blog post and answer your top 5 questions here and now, ha!   1.  When are you going to do another post on the progress of the renovations? Happy Friday this and thatters! If you follow me on insta you know that Matt and I are renovating our home!  It's probably more accurate to call it an out and out gut job, ha.  We have removed the entire roof, tons of windows etc. etc. I thought it would be fun to document our journey here!  It has been a fun journey so far.  Everyone asks me if demo is hard and for me it isn't because I love seeing big progress each and everyday!  I know there will be days and even weeks that I can't really tell that anything is happening so I am relishing this time.   For my first post on our reno I thought it would be fun to post some before pics of our place and a some demo shots as well.  Enjoy!! xoxo Here are the before pics of our little casa! How are my shopping buddies today?   As you all know I love companies like birch box, style mint etc.  I love these companies because they send you or you select great products to receive each month.   Well I have to to tell you that the mint's have done it again and paired up with JT (as in Justin Timberlake)....ok let's take a minute to appreciate how hot JT is. DANG!!  Sorry to get distracted by JT but damn he's hot.  So anyway JT has partnered with some chick named Estee Stanley to create home mint which is the same concept as all the monthlies.  You log in, create a profile of your style and then each month they create amazing showrooms for you.  You pick what you want to receive and it can vary from candles, to pillows, to dishes etc.   I think this is such a fabulous idea for people that are just starting to get into home design and for those interior design junkies!   Check out home mint and let me know ...

So this amazing weather not only makes me want to shop it also gets me in the mood to do some spring cleaning around the house.  For the better part of the weekend I was laid out as I lifted a bag of potting soil from the ground up to my cart at Home Depot and when I did I heard a pop....never good! The doc says I've pulled muscles etc and should take it easy.  Yea right doc!  I mean I agree with the doc but how the heck am I suppose to lay around on a heating pad for a week.?!  I did follow the doc's orders over the weekend well for the most part.  I did get up from time to time to do some things around the house and get us ready for my big spring cleaning which involves washing everything including dog beds, bed skirts, Mae's collar etc.  It also involves flipping mattresses and airing out pillows etc.  In preparation for the big clean I did some small things around the house this weekend to get us ready! 1.  Do-It-Yourself Home Deodoriz...

Before I show you my latest home before and after I have to ask how is lent going?!?!   Only having 2 caffeinated beverages a day has definitely been a sacrifice and I picked the right thing to give up for lent.  Also, as I type this I am in sweaty workout clothes (TMI I know) as I just finished running.  So far, so good on lent...keep me posted on how you are doing! So the home improvement continues at casa Womack and I have to say I am excited.  The house is being painted next week.  I got some great help and much needed assistance from our super sweet neighbor and designer extradionare and I can't wait to see it come to life.  Right now the majority of our house is painted in a very light beige/taupe color and I am really excited for some new darker colors and variation.
