My Uniform

Hello lovies?!

 Have you ever heard the phrase "what's old is new again?"  Well I have and I have to tell you lately I have been wearing items that remind me of growing up.  This summer has been all about comfort for me with a touch of style!  Think denim, white t's and birks.  

 I hope you enjoy my comfy old favorites that have become my uniform lately.

 1.  Birkenstocks

 I rocked birkenstocks all through high school and probably into college as well.  A few months ago I got the itch for birkentstocks again!  So I took myself into the store and tried on several pairs of birks but ended up with my old faithfuls.  The same birks that I wore all through high school are back on my feet and better than ever!






2.  Joe's Cut Offs

 I love, love denim, chambray whatever you want to call it….I always have.  I spent the better part of my elementary school years in a denim dress from merry go round jr (did I just totally date myself?!).  So imagine my excitement when I scored the perfect pair of Joe's cut-offs.  I admit that I grabbed these last season so below is a similar style.  I hope I'm not too old to rock these because they haven't left my booty all summer :)



3.  White V-Neck Tee

 There is nothing better than a super, soft broken in white tee (in my humble opinion).  I love to wear them with jeans, shorts, yoga pants etc.  This summer I have lived in this Alexander Wang T.  It is a bit see through so you have to wear a cami underneath it.  But other than that it's perfect!  If you need a great white tee this is the one for you.

I'm Jealous Of My Husband

I have to be honest I almost didn't publish this post.  This is a real and raw post.  I finally hit publish because I figured I couldn't be the only one feeling this way. I will tell you I didn't know I was jealous of Matt at first.  I knew I was angry, resentful, overwhelmed and afraid.  As a wife and mother the to do list seems never ending.  Whether you work or not being a mother is one of the hardest jobs, if not the hardest job on the planet.   Matt and I are blessed to both have fulfilling careers and therefore we have someone who helps us 5 days a week.   For a long time I felt bad for being a working mother.  I've made my peace with that.  I am now thankful instead of guilty.  It was a long road but I'm in a good place with it.  I'm not saying that from time to time I don't wrestle with working and being mother but on the whole I am comfortable with my choice.   So when these feelings started c...

A Sad Season

I have to tell you that these past few months and perhaps this year have been hard and yes sad.  My mother told me when we were talking about it that I was experiencing "a sad season" and I have to agree. Now this doesn't mean that everything has been awful, sad and terrible.  I haven't been in bed for weeks at a time with the covers over my head watching trash tv.  Instead I feel like it has been one of those times were the hits just keep on coming.  The bad news just keeps rolling in like ocean waves.  It has been a time of tremendous loss and sadness.  The events that have occurred aren't the same but it felt like every time I would get my ahead above water something else would happen.   It has been difficult because there are happy times mixed in to all of the sad.  In those times of happiness I have genuinely tried to be in the moment but my heart wasn't in the right place.  My heart has not felt happy and there has been an undercurr...
