Dear Emily

Dear Emily, I am loving this time with you right now!  I wish I could freeze time for just a little bit.  It's such a great time because you can walk, feed yourself and talk.  Now you can't say much but you absolutely get your point across.   You are getting more independent and less shy!  I am so proud of you for being brave and trying all sorts of new things.  I know new things seem scary at first but I promise if you keep doing them it won't be as scary.  I promise you that doing these new things is a great way to grow and figure out who you are. You aren't exactly sure what to think about me being pregnant nor do I really expect you to understand.  We do talk about babies a lot and you enjoy looking at my growing belly.  You even like to lift my shirt up in public which is super fun for mommy :)   We are working on saying "sissy" as I know the babies name is a bit of a mouthful for now.  You are getting very good at saying sissy.  I think about wha

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy day this and thatters!!  I hope you and yours are having a fantastic week :) Here's a little update from our weekend, enjoy!  xoxo My birthday was on Friday so we had a fun weekend of celebrating!  I promise you the older I get the more I like celebrating Em's birthday as opposed to mine :)   The hubs and me talked about taking a trip or having a spa weekend but after some thought I decided I wanted something for the house.  After much stalking on One Kings Lane I found a great headboard for our master bedroom and decided this was the perfect birthday gift!  We put together the bed this weekend and I love it!  Emily was a fan too :) This is a very random fact but I've been obsessed with La Croix ever since I got pregnant.  I recently found this cherry lime flavor and I can't get enough.  I literally drink them all the time!  Try this flavor and you won't be sorry. Friday night we went to dinner with friends for my birthday at Atlas

The Lilly Aftermath

Happy Sunday pretty readers!  I'm not even gonna lie to you that I am exhausted.  I shopped the Lilly sale like many others and it was crazy!!  Let's break it down, shall we? 1.  Target and their lookbook can bite me (sorry I'm tired).  Why did they encourage us to favorite things when the minute you could access the site the lookbook was nowhere to be found?   Also, why did they change some items to in-store only once they launched?  Knowing that would have been helpful for planning. 2.  Oh the website!  We all knew it would crash but I don't think even the most rabid Lilly fan realized how hard it would be to actually make a purchase.  They had serious shopping cart issues and that's super unfortunate.  Also, it seems that their mobile site was far less likely to crash.....good to know for the future.   3.  I know there is a very big conspiracy theory going on about who actually could check out and who couldn't but I seriously think it was luck of the d

What's What

Happy Saturday lovelies!!  I hope you and yours are having a great start to the weekend.  I hope you enjoy this edition of what's what. xoxo 1.  Lilly for Target It's finally here...almost!!!  Tomorrow the long awaited Lilly collection comes to Target.  I have been plotting and planning with a good friend for a few days about the best way to tackle shopping the collection.  I think I'm going to absolutely try online but I feel pretty confident that the site will crash (debbie downer).   So I'm planning to go to two stores in person one super target and one non-super target.  Emily has been helping me with all my planning and reviewing the look book (link below) wearing her Lilly of course.  What are your plans for the Lilly for Target event? Click here! 2.  Savor by Shauna Niequist I finally got this devotional in the mail this week and I LOVE it!  It's a quick and easy way to start my day.  The devotionals are short but powerful and meaningfu

WTF

Hello lovely readers!  Pardon the crass title of this blog post but I'm a little bit fired up and it seemed appropriate.  I'm about to hop on my soapbox....you've been warned. xoxo Is it just me or have you been reading on the internet about celebrities being "fat shamed"?  From Pink to Kelly Clarkson it's been dominating the internet and "news".  It's hard for me to believe that it's acceptable for anyone to call someone else fat or judge their appearance so openly much less so called journalists.   The other thing I find so interesting is that the media will be the first ones to tell them when they are way too think aka Bethenny Frankel.  When did weight, big or small, become a socially acceptable topic to discuss on the news, on the internet and on social media?! Frankly I blame social media!  I think it's very easy to be a complete jackass when you are behind a keyboard.  I know you see it all day, everyday on social media ac

The Weekend

Happy Day beautiful people!  I hope you and yours are doing well :)   I'm slowly getting back into routine after coming off a very busy work time.  That includes working out, blogging and in general not running around like a chicken with my head cut off!   As I ease back into regular blogging I wanted to share with you what we did this weekend!  Enjoy! xoxo 1.  Friday Adventures with Emily So now that I have a more flexible schedule I love that I get more time with baby girl.  Emily has a nanny four days a week at our house and then we nanny share on Fridays.  The great part of working from home part-time is that I get to spend a ton of time with her during the week!   However, I like spending Fridays with her doing something new or fun.  Sometimes our adventures are low key maybe just lunch out and a playdate!  This Friday we had a great playdate with baby boy Gray.  These babes were two peas in a pod! This coming Friday we are going to the Yellow River Game
