Fabulous Finds: Report Footwear

Image
If you know me you know I love a great pair of shoes.  I will tell you that the hubs doesn't exactly understand me spending a ton of $$ on one pair of shoes.  My rationale is that they last forever so I don't mind spending the $$....he ain't buying it :) So in an effort to try and take the hubs advice I've been on the search for great, amazing shoes that don't break the budget.  Imagine my surprise and delight when I found report footwear!  They have the absolute cutest shoes and at a great price point.  I love their flats and their pumps and you will too!   Check 'em out.... xoxo

The Pivot Questionnaire

How are my peeps today?  I know that it is hard to get motivated today.  I am still in vacation mode and not ready for the week to start just yet.   I decided to do something a little fun to ease us all into the week.  It's something called the pivot questionnaire.  The questionnaire originally came from a French talk show host but has been made famous by James Lipton from Inside The Actor's Studio.   I always love hearing people's answers to these questions.  And I can't tell you how many times I have answered the questions in my head.  On this especially difficult Tuesday I decided to answer the questions but this time to put pen to paper.  The answers are suppose to tell you a lot about a person in a short amount of time!  So here goes nothing..... Happy Tuesday xoxo 1.  What is your favorite word? Happiness 2.  What is your least favorite word? Fight 3.  What turns you on? Hard work, things done flawlessly 4.  What turns you off? Criticism.

What's In My Make Up Bag

How are my fav ladies today?  I'm having a slight case of the Mondays that can only be cured by eyeshadows, moisturizers, and my all time favorite lip glosses!  So you know I did some online sephora shopping to cure what ails me.   Here are my latest and greatest finds to help you get over the Mondays :) xoxo 1.  Avalon Organics Is an amazing line of organic skin care that you can buy at Publix (and if I have it at my Publix you have it at yours).  I am loving the whole line, truth be told, but my favorite product so far is the rejuvenating oil-free Vitamin C moisturizer.  I wear it at night with my everyday moisturizer and it does amazing things for my skin! 2.  Benefit Eye Brightener Pencil These days and every day I am looking for anything to help tired eyes.  I love, love the eye brightener from benefit.  It is great to use in the corners of your eyes to make you look more awake and also to make your eyeliner really pop!   3.  Water So lately I've bee

Working Girl Rules: Reward Yourself

Image
How are my working women this week?   I have to tell you that this working girl is tired!  I had a trying week and at the end of it wanted nothing more than to go home, eat a pizza and watch dateline (and have some wine, who are we kidding?).   As I was drifting off to sleep last night I got to thinking about being in school and how we use to get gold stars for doing something well or being the star student.  I got to thinking this morning about how it would be great if this happened in our adult life.  If outside everyone's office or cube there was a chart where you could be rewarded a gold star or stars :) Unfortunately that doesn't happen so often times we are left with only the words people know to say "good job" "well done" "thank you".  Sometimes after a completely crazy project or work week these words fall short.  I want a physical representation of the words "good job".   But truth be told my employer does

Thank God For Country Boys

I've spent some time in the South GA recently otherwise known as SOGA.  I always love getting out of the city and heading to the country for many reasons including real sweet tea, fried chicken, boiled peanuts, dirt roads, miller high life ponies, trucks, good manners, striplings jerky etc.   I could forever list why I love getting out of Atlanta but I won't bore you with the details.  On my way home (from SOGA) as I passed men in their pick up trucks heading off for a hard days work I got to thinking about country boys and what makes them so great.  For the record I have always loved country boys.  I dated all shapes and sizes of boys before I got married but I always loved the truck driving, whiskey drinking, waylon lovin, deer hunting boys whose mama raised them right.   I love how the South and particularly the country teaches boys to be real men.  I love that it teaches them to be a man's man (I can't stand a wimpy guy), to stand up for themselves, to have nice

Working Girl Rules: The Kind of Tired You Can't Sleep Off...

How are my lovely blog readers this morning??   In Atlanta it is dreary and for some reason I couldn't sleep last night.  It wasn't all bad I got a lot done from 3 a.m. until now and I also decided to write about the kind of tired you can't sleep off.  So what is the kind of tired you can't sleep off exactly? This is something that is going to happen to you no matter who you are and no matter what you do.  This phenomena might start out like a slow ache but eventually it will blossom into a full blown "thing".   The kind of tired you can't sleep off happens when you are burned out, overworked, not getting enough "me" time or alone time.  It can happen when it's time for you to make a move or when something is going on that you know isn't right but you have no control over.  Maybe it's just your busy season or you are working on a project that isn't going well.  It happens when you aren't doing something that you are pass

Summa Time!

Image
I'm beyond excited for summa, summa time!  I need a tan in the worst way.  Right now I feel like a butterball turkey....pale and plump.  One of my dearest friends always tells me "tan fat turns to muscle, we need to workout (aka lay by the pool)" I don't know why but tanned anything looks better than what I'm sporting right now.  My little type A self was getting my beach and pool bag ready and I came across some of my favorite items for getting a tan!  I hope you enjoy my summa, summa time must haves and that you have a fun tropical vaca or pool day in your future. xoxo 1.  Supergoop Ok I am obsessed with this stuff.  My bff gave it to my for birthday a few years ago and I have been hooked every since.  It is the best sunscreen in the world and I love, love the sunscreen wipes.  I pick up the travel tote every season and use every single item in the bag (and you will too)! 2.  Fabulous Flip Flops I love a great pair of flip flops that can withstan

More Errands Than The Average Bear....

I feel like I spend my life running errands!  As it stands right now I have a growing to do list and all I can think is I need about 5 good hours to get it all done.  Is it just me or do you feel like you spend your life in the car going from place to place?  When I start or add to my to do list it doesn't seem like any big deal.  Even when I tell the hubs everything I did (all the errands I've run) it sounds negligible but it sure doesn't feel that way.  Somehow I spend the better part of most weekends in my car going to the dry cleaners, the alterations place, the mall, the bank, the grocery store, etc.  I feel like someone could make a great deal of money by offering to run all your errands for you.  For instance my dry cleaners started a service where they will come to your house pick up your dirty clothes, launder them and then return them.  Hallelujah is all I have to say!!  These days when things get overwhelming I'm looking to OUTSOURCE them to anyone that

Do You Date Night?

What's up stinkers?  Is anyone else doing back flips because it's Friday??  Or is that just me? The hubs and I were talking about our love of Fridays on the way to our date night.  We were talking about being younger and how exciting and amazing Fridays were.  You had the whole weekend in front of you to ride bikes, eat pizza, go to a sleepover, and in general be a kid.  We both agreed that nothing beat the last day of school!!  You had three months of pool time, family trips and being with your friends ahead of you...it was nirvana.   Sorry to digress a bit but I love childhood memories!  So my question to the universe is do you date night?  The hubs and I have a date night once a week (or we try).  This is a special time for us when I don't have to cook (thank you Jesus), we spend time together and eat a good meal.   Some people think it's weird that we do it because we've been married for about a minute but I think it's an important time for us to recon

Kids Say The Darndest Things....

Image
If you know me you know that I have no filter, at all, whatsoever.  This often causes things to fly out of my mouth and sometimes the effect is laughter and other times I wish I could grab whatever I just said and put it back.  The hubs is use to my ridiculous language, statements and observations but lately he has commented that I've taken it to the next level.  I blame the heat.  It's hot as F outside and I really wish I was in a pool with a cold drink.  Really can you blame me for being grumpy?  I am in a full business suit schlepping around instead of being in paradise I think that buys me a few snarky comments.  Here are some of my latest and greatest hits! "That girl needs to get a bra and a clue"  (the hubs "she heard you" me "good") "It's hot as balls in this house"  "Holy shit balls"  (the hubs "caroline for the love of God") "I'd rather crawl across Georgia on broken glass than hel

It's Your Birthday!!

Image
Sooo it was my birthday last week and I will have to say 32 is sitting pretty well with me so far :)  I like being even numbers as crazy as that sounds.  I also like that for my birthday I got some great discount coupons from some of my favorite stores and also got gift certificates as gifts. I know some people think gift certificates are not a special gift but I disagree!  I feel like they are a win, win you spend what you would have normally spent and I don't return your gift :)  see everyone wins. Here are a few of my favorite things that I got for my birthday. 1.  Tory Burch Wedges My sweet and thoughtful friend from work gave me a Nordstrom gift card and I was actually holding onto a Nordstrom gift card since Christmas so I put the two together and got the cutest Tory Burch Criss Cross Wedges.  These are beyond comfortable and haven't left my feet since last week. 2.  Anthropologie Tanks I love Anthro (as I call it)!  I know some people feel like it looks l

It's The First Of The Month

I remember back in the day when the first of the month was a happy time!  It always made me think of that bone thugs n harmony song "it's the first of tha month"   Now the first of tha month reminds me to pay bills, do laundry, check in with hubs about our investments, collect rental property money and in general be an adult. I kinda wish it reminded me more of having fun and being free!!   One thing the first of tha month reminds me of is my do NOT to do list.  I feel like my whole life but especially the first of the month is all about the to do list.   Lately I've started a list of things I won't do, here it is in no particular order, 1.   I will NOT give a shit what people think.  And I really don't.  Love me, hate me, I do not care.  Talk to me about it or deal with it but I am happy with who I am. 2.  I will NOT worry about gaining or losing weight no matter how hard it is.  Gaining and losing weight is part of life.  Yes I wish I was a size 4
