What's What

Happy Thursday (and almost June) this and thatters!!  I hope you've all had a great week and are gearing up for a fabulous weekend.  Please enjoy this edition of what's what.  xoxo 1. Pantene BB Cream Ok so I have to be honest that I was a bit skeptical about BB cream for hair!  I mean is it really necessary or is it just one more product?  My curiosity got the better of me and I gave it a try and surprise, surprise I loved it.  I put it on my hair when it is a bit damp and it makes it incredibly soft and actually helps with styling.  I am a big fan! 2.  The Hills/Laguna Beach I'm not sure if you've heard but The Hills and Laguna Beach are going to be aired on MTV this summer and I couldn't be more thrilled.  I spend a lot of time watching TV these days with my prego feet propped up :) so hearing the news that MTV was bringing back two of my fav shows filled my heart with joy. I can't wait to hear Kristin say "Steppphhhen" over and

Happy Friday and long weekend this and thatters!  I hope you enjoy this beautiful weekend and this edition of what's what.  xoxo 1.  Road Runner Sports Sooo I needed new running shoes in the worst possible way and I decided to hit up road runner sports.  I went because I've never been there before and I wanted to see what their experience was all about!  To say I fell in love would be an understatement :)  The way they fit you for shoes is awesome and they even custom make your in-soles.  I ended up with some awesome shoes that are going to allow me to stay active during my pregnancy and I'm thrilled. 2.  Aveda Shampure Candles Right now my sense of smell rivals that of a blood hounds so when I was getting my hair did the other day and they were burning aveda's shampure candles I died!!  I had to ask what is that awesome candle?!  I instantly snapped up 2 of them and have been burning them constantly.  Give them a try and you won't be sorry. 3.

Hey this and thatters!  How are ya? Sorry I've been a bit absent lately but being 6 months pregnant and going to bed at 8 p.m. has seriously cut into my blogging :)  But I am going to be better I promise.  To make it up to you I bring to you my bling favorites!!  These are the items I am loving for spring and in fact haven't been able to take off.  Enjoy!  xoxo 1.  Love Necklace I spotted this necklace at Nordstrom and instantly fell in love!  I literally haven't taken it off since I got it.  I just pile on other necklaces with it.  I sleep in it, swim in it and have no plans of taking it off anytime soon.  I hope you love it as much as I do (pun intended)! 2.  Stella and Dot Stunner I am really digging delicate necklaces right now that I can layer together.  When I saw this stella and dot necklace I knew it would be a great addition to my collection and boy was I right!  I wear it constantly and feel like it goes with everything I own.   3.  C. Hello lovelies!!  How are you?  I am so excited that it's FRIDAY :)  Mostly because this little prego lady hasn't been feeling well and I need a weekend to rest.  While I'm putting my feet up I hope you enjoy this edition of what's what!  xoxo 1.  Maternity Clothes So I am not the first or the last prego lady to look for fashionable, reasonably priced maternity clothes and be nothing but disappointed!  I will tell you that I have found the cutest stuff at ASOS maternity and Gap....no joke.  ASOS has adorable and affordable clothes and it's stuff I would actually wear if I wasn't pregnant.  Thank goodness for that because my days of squeezing into my regular clothes are dwindling :) 2.  New Cool-Cat Colors After months of waiting (and nagging the hubs) we finally got the fabulous new Cool-Cat colors in!  I love, love the red, pink and black so much.  I have been wearing them non-stop working out or not!  Go check out our site and the amazing new colo

Blog Love

It's no secret I love, love reading blogs!  I sometimes find them by accident or through friends.  Either way I love it when someone tells me about a great blog and I'm instantly hooked.   Here are the blogs I'm loving and reading right now.  Enjoy!  xoxo 1.  Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers I was referred to this blog via facebook and she does not disappoint!  I love her approach to fashion, her pics of "food porn" as she calls it and her amazing candor.  She recently shared a very meaningful/touching post about infertility and it literally brought tears to me eyes.  If you are a looking for a blog that has a little bit of everything than this is the blog for you! http://designerbagsanddirtydiapers.blogspot.com 2.  Pawley's Island Posh Is such a cute blog!!  It's about all things decor (although she will blog about skincare, fashion and food) but done is such a way that it doesn't intimidate me.  I love that she takes us along with her on her

What's On My Nightstand

How are my lovely readers on this Master's Sunday?   I am just getting settled from a little beach time.  I'm watching the Master's, doing laundry and napping with Mae....the perfect Sunday.  My time away has left me inspired so get ready for lots of blog posts :)   Until then enjoy this edition of what's on my nightstand.  Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequist So I know that I normally give you a few books to read during these posts but I adore this book so much that I am giving it it's very own post!  Do you ever read a book or a find an author you love to read and you want to tell everyone about it?  Or is that just my nerdy self? I love, love this author's writing.  In fact I've blogged about her other books Cold Tangerines and Bittersweet (if you haven't read them go buy them...NOW!).  Bread and Wine is her newest book and it's fantastic.   It's a mix of her short stories/essays and fabulous recipes all rolled into one.  She talks

How are you today beautiful?!  I, for one, am so excited for spring and sundresses, bright jewelry and flip flops.  I've spent all day reading out on our back deck and now I'm getting ready to make some strawberry Easter cupcakes.  I hope you enjoy this edition of what's what!  xoxo 1.  J.Crew Necklace I saw this necklace at J.Crew and instantly feel in love!  I adore the colors, the style and everything else about it.  Given my growing belly (if you haven't heard I'm prego-I will be posting about my experience very soon) I am looking for cute scarves and necklaces to help my wardrobe.  This necklace was a must have!! 2.  J.Crew Sale Speaking of J.Crew they are having an amazing sale right now with an additional 30% off!  Given I am only shopping for accessories these days I took the time to hit up the men's department for the hubs.  I found him some amazing shirts for work!  Let's just say the Easter Bunny shopped for the hubs and J.Crew and I

Hey lovely readers!  How are you? I'm not sure about you but I am ready for SPRING!  This last snap of cold weather that we are having in the ATL is doing nothing to help my spring fever.  I hope this edition of what's in my make up bag helps cure your spring fever :)  xoxo 1.  Cetaphil Moisturizer with SPF 15 So I have a super cute friend who is a PA at a dermatologists office so she's always giving me tips.  Her latest tip was use Cetaphil!!  She basically told me all other products are based off of Cetaphil they just have different packaging.  I snapped their moisturizer with SPF right up and I love it!!   2.  NARS Charade Duo Eyeshadow It's spring and I needed some new eyeshadow so I headed over to the NARS counter and had a blast.  I got a lot more than eyeshadow but I am loving this pinky mauve and plum combo and you will too!  :) 3.  NARS Deep Throat Blush While I as at the NARS counter I also snapped up a yummy peachy blush that I had been

"Me" Time

Hey lovely readers!  How are you?   How rainy and gross has this weekend been?  I've taken this weekend to get some much needed rest!!!  The legislative session is almost over and it has kicked my butt (just to be honest).  So this weekend the hubs went golfing with his buddies in Alabama and I got some much needed alone time :)  It almost felt like my single days again.  I got to watch exactly what I wanted on TV, snuggle with Mae and walk around in PJ's all day.   Is it just me or have you been glued to MTV all weekend?!  This retro real world weekend has made this rainy weather so much more bearable.  It has also reminded me of some awful fashion choices-chokers, doc martin's, hats and vests, lots and lots of vests!   I also got some much needed stuff done around the house.  I got a jump on my spring cleaning and have a pile of goodies for the hubs to take to Goodwill when he returns.  I'm sure he will be thrilled :)  I also organized his Cool-Cat office...I

Happy Sunday this and thatters!  How are you spending this beautiful day?   The hubs and I had the most enjoyable day yesterday that included a lengthy trip to Barnes and Noble and a yummy lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.  I must confess I love CPK!  I know me and every five year old but what can I say it just hits the spot :) I'm sure your more interested in my B & N trip than my love of CPK so please enjoy what's on my nightstand!  xoxo 1.  Lilly by Kathryn Livingston If you are like me it's that time of year that you are looking longing at your spring clothes.  You feel like you are never going to get to wear them and the items that jump out the most are your Lilly pieces :)  I saw this memoir on Lilly Pulitzer and knew immediately I had to have it.  It is an amazing book (that I'm already half way through) about her life, her struggles and the rise and fall (and eventual rise again) of her fashion empire.  If you love all things Lilly this book is for

Happy Saturday this and thatters!  I hope you all had a fantastic week and I hope you have an even better weekend.  Please enjoy this edition of what's what!  xoxo 1.  Essie's Lollipop I finally got a much needed mani/pedi yesterday.  If you live in Atlanta you probably frequent Hammond Nails.  It is the best place to get your nails done in my opinion.  They have the best nail colors and staff!  I'm giving my nails a break from the gel polish so I'm all about trying new colors right now.  I fell in love with essie's lollipop and knew I had to try it once I picked up the color twice.  I am loving this color for spring and summer and you will too! 2.  Sweet Leaf Green Tea (Mint & Honey) Ok so I've been trying to not indulge in soft drinks.  I'm not sure if you read the latest article that came out on aspartame but I did and it scared the heck out of me.  In an effort to find something a bit more healthy I've been trying tons of differe

Is It Spring Yet?!?!

Hello beautiful! How are you?  Are you craving spring, like me?   Even though the weather has been less than spring like I've been snapping up some fun spring/summer accessories to help pass the time until sundress season :)   Enjoy!  xoxo 1.  Lovely Necklace from J.Crew Factory I died when I saw this necklace from J.Crew Factory!  It will be the perfect accessory to wear all spring and summer.  I will pair it with fun tops and shorts and sundresses! 2.  Jack Rogers I've had my silver pair of Jack Rogers for almost 7 years!  I decided it was about time I added another pair to my rotation.  I snapped up these lovely gold ones to wear all spring long!  I cannot wait for them to come in :) 3.  Pretty Tory Flats I literally almost fell over when I saw these in Nordstrom!  I didn't even worry about justifying them or thinking about how I would make them work with what I had I just bought them.  I know I will wear them all the time and I can'

Wrap-Up

Image
Hello beautiful! How are you?  I apologize for my absence so here's a quick wrap-up of what I've been doing (instead of blogging). Are you loathing this winter weather as much as I am?  I broke out some fun snow cat capri's from J.Crew this week in revolt to this nasty weather.  My ankles were a bit cold but sometimes you have to suffer for fashion.   I'm still deeply in love with my closet!  It makes getting dressed so much fun and I LOVE being able to see everything I own organized and in one spot.  It actually takes me less time to get ready because I'm not twirling around looking for a shirt that I know I own but somehow cannot find....anywhere! I've been working on all things Cool-Cat.  Living and working with your hubby can sometimes be challenging because there are no off days (especially with my type A hubs).  It's been such an exciting time and really been amazing to watch things come together and flourish.  It's not for lack of har

Closet, Closet, Closet

Hello lovelies!!  How are you today?? I am so excited to show you the before and after of my closet renovations!  It has taken some time to get everything in it's place and organized but it is now a masterpiece if I do so say myself!   I finally have everything I own in one closet!  My bathing suits, purses, spring/summer and fall/winter are all together.  And the best part they are organized and I can see and find everything!  It is truly the best home improvement project I have ever done and I wish I had done it sooner.   Below are the before and after pictures taken with my lovely cellphone!   Here is our closet before.  With everything shoved in and not exactly organized. But here's the thing we have a great closet.  As you can see once it is all empty.  The issue for me was the cheap shelving units and the way things were laid out.   So here is the new closet that the designer and I came up with!  I thought it would help to show you pics with and

I hope you enjoy this edition of what's what!  xoxo 1.  Alexis Bittar Earrings I love, love me some alexis bittar!  I got a ring first, then a now necklace and finally these fabulous earrings.  I just love how beautiful and unique they are.  I know I will wear them all the time...day or night. 2.  Get Your Twitter On I love, love this fun necklace!  How cute is it that you can actually wear your twitter handle.  Mine is @coolcatpro so maybe the hubs can snag this for Valentine's Day for me :)  I just love, love how cute it is.  You can buy them at Bauble Bar! 3.  Faux Cartier Bracelet I have been obsessing over the gold cartier bracelet Kourtney Kardashain wears for years.  Sadly at a price of $4500 it ain't happening!!  So I was so excited

A Piece Of My Heart

If you know me (even a little) you know that I have a big heart.  I think that's why I'm so sensitive, passionate and often times relatable.   Today I got a call from a very, dear, sweet friend who was upset.  Not the run of the mill upset but truly down in her bones hurt.  I was so upset for her and with her that I sat on the stairs in my house for 45 minutes and let her spill out her heart. The whole time she talked mine broke for her.  I searched for the right words but feel they fell short.  I listened but I know that what she is going through is the hardest kind of pain.  It is the inescapable hurt that no one can help you through but God and yourself.   I felt like I wanted to right her wrong and fix it but I know that I am not capable of that.  So I sat there feeling helpless while she pulled herself together using her incredible strength.   I've been thinking about her and a lot of my friends since then.  I think you often times gravitate towards friends tha

Happy Friday beautifuls!   Are you super excited about the weekend ahead?   I am super jazzed about this edition of what's in my make up bag because I love, love this product!   I am also super excited because next week we will have a fabulous guest blogger sharing all her fav beauty tips in a special edition of what's in my make up bag.  She really is the cutest!  When I asked her to be a guest blogger she said she felt like a celebrity, ha.  Stay tuned for her post it's going to be fantastic! Happy weekend.  xoxo It's very rare that I find a product I love as much as this one!  It is also very rare that I will spend $70 on one product.  Hear me out before you judge me!  I actually only spent $20 on this product as I had a $50 Nordstrom gift card.  I read about this product several times before actually giving it a try!  And when T&C featured it this month I broke down and bought it.   If you are like me you have under eye bags, circles what have you.

Happy Thursday this and thatters!   How crazy and unpredictable has the weather been in the ATL?!  I'm hoping that sooner or later it stops being so crazy, don't you?   To tie all of us over until then enjoy this edition of what's what!  xoxo 1.  Peter Thomas Roth Oily Problem Skin Instant Mineral Powder (SPF 30) Ladies aren't we always trying to fight the shine!!  Especially in the south when it can be super duper humid?  I love, love this product by Peter Thomas Roth!!  I use it everyday because it is great at giving you a matte finish and also it adds a bit more SPF to my routine.  Try it and you won't be sorry!! 2.  White Girl Problems If you are looking for a fun, easy read this is the book for you!   My friend told me about it this week and I am almost done reading it :)  It is like Clueless meets Chelsea Handler so get ready for a hilarious and inappropriate read.  You will love, love it.   3.  It's Bath Time If you are lik
