This Season

Happy Day this and thatters.  This is a more serious post, so you've been warned, about the seasons of life, anticipation and contentment.   I hope you enjoy! xoxo Does it ever feel like the season of life you are in is somewhat difficult?  That as soon as you could get past the laundry list of items that are bothering you/plaguing you, you could finally be happy? I think we've all been there.  All been in the difficult season of life when it doesn't feel like anything is changing or maybe everything is changing.  When it feels like no matter what you do you can't seem to get it right, or be happy for any period of time.  That even the people around you aren't capable of getting it right or doing anything right?   These are hard seasons to endure for sure.  They are hard on our minds, bodies and souls.  These are the times when we question ourselves and choices we've made.  We often times reach out for a life boat or a friend to help cut through the mu

The Confessional

Hello lovelies!!  I hope you are having a fantastic day.  I'm trying to get us ready for all things fall and that includes decorating the house and carving pumpkins.  I hope you are enjoying the season as well!   I also hope you enjoy The Confessional. xoxo 1.  Most days my house looks like we are running a daycare.  There are toys everywhere and pacifiers absolutely everywhere.  Emily likes to leave them along the hall and in various rooms.  When she sees a new/different one she immediately drops the one in her mouth and gets the one she just discovered.   It's hard for my type A, OCD personality to let it go but I do.  I let her go full out all day and clean up when the day is done.  I will confess when she's napping I do try to get some order back but it is pretty much fruitless.   So I'm learning to let go one toy at a time :) 2.  Cooking makes me happy.  It isn't always that way and I definitely go through phases with wanting to cook.  There are t

I also died over this awesome dining room table.  I didn't pull the trigger but I will be back for it. 2.  The Big Move Our move to Cartersville has allowed more time with family and that has been truly awesome.  The other night my sweet nephew and his parents came over for dinner.  In true daddy

What I Wear To Work

Image
Hello lovely ladies (and gents if you read this)!  I hope you and yours are having a fantastic day.   I know that getting dressed for work can sometimes be a chore.  You throw on the same thing over and over because you're exhausted, it's dark outside and you're exhausted :)   I like getting dressed for work (no surprise there).  It gives me an opportunity to wear items in my closet differently because you know my rule if I'm buying it I gotta be able to wear it at work, at church and on the weekends.   Here are some of my favorite things to wear to work.  They are my tried and true and never disappoint! xoxo 1.  J.Crew Pixie Pant I'm dying over these amazing pants from J.Crew!!  I compare them to leggings but they are so much more.  They are super comfy, but provide structure (and sucking in) where you need it.  You can throw them on with a cute top and jacket and head out the door.  What I really love is they are comfy all day long and they don't

All Grey Everything

How are all my favorites today?!! I have to tell you that I noticed lately I have been wearing a lot of GREY!  Heck even my nail polish the other day was grey.  I can't help it I am just loving being in grey right now.  I think it's a great color to get you through transitions.  Especially right now when it's fall but (in the South at least) we are all still rocking short sleeves and shorts.   Here are some of my favorite grey pieces!  Enjoy.  xoxo 1.  Seven For All Mankind High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans (Slim Illusion Storm Black) I have been living in these 7 jeans lately.  They are super comfy and go with everything.  I don't always call jeans super comfy.  A lot of jeans are comfortable but these are like wearing yoga pants to me.  I love the wash on these as well.  I got mine on sale at Nordstrom! 2.  Ainsley Ruffle Back Pullover by Anthropologie How sweet is this top?!  I snagged it on a whim and I LOVE IT.  It looks great with the jeans above o

Happy Weekend lovelies!!   I hope you and yours are soaking up this amazing fall weather!  We have a weekend with zero plans and I couldn't be more excited.   I hope you enjoy this edition of what's what! xoxo 1.  Wisteria I love looking for items for our house!  I like slowly collecting things and then seeing how they come together.  I stumbled upon Wisteria's website and fell in love with pretty much everything!  I love their accessories and lighting.  Check them out and you won't be sorry. www.wisteria.com 2.  C. Salt Collections I have been drooling over several amazing bracelets from C. It's Time To Get Cozy

Hello beautifuls! How are you?  I hope you and yours are having a fabulous week.  The hubs and I made our first trip to Athens in a long time last weekend!  And went to our first UGA game together EVER...so crazy!  I mean it's only been 6 years :) It was a great weekend and got me super excited about the fall.  I love this time of year and I'm excited to break out cozy pieces that are perfect for lounging or going out.   xoxo 1.  Vince Camuto Blush Coat Last season I did a major coat clean out!!  It was high time and I only left what fit and was still in excellent shape.  However that left me with mostly black in my coat closet.  I was on amazon.com the other day and spotted this amazing vince camuto coat.  I loved the blush color and the feminine but modern shape.   2.  UGGs If you watch Scandal than you know all about Mellie!  So I blame Mellie for the fact that I'm longing for these UGG boots.  I think they will be fabulous to th

Dear Emily

Dear Emily, You are officially 1 year old!!  I cannot even believe it.  I'm not sure how or where this past year went.  You are absolutely a character!  You have a temper and are strong willed but I love that about you.  I am trying to teach you when things are dangerous without impacting your strong will. One of the nurses told me in the hospital that you would tell me what you needed and she was right.  You absolutely tell me it just sometimes takes me a while to listen.  Since we moved your napping schedule hasn't been ideal.  It took a lot of time but I finally realized that you were ready for just one nap a day!  You are doing beautifully and taking a 2-3 hour nap a day which really helps mommy and daddy. You don't love dairy, ha!  Whole milk isn't your friend so mommy is working on other options for you.  You are still loving your formula so for now that is what we are going to stick with! You still only have two bottom teeth but you are actually working o
