New Year, New Clothes

Image
Hey Style Lovers!  I hope you are loving the New Year and all the amazing sales!  I have been loving them and snapping up some amazing, fun items I will be wearing for months and months. xoxo 1.  Derek Lam Oversize Cardigan I have been eyeing this cardigan for many moons now.  I love that it's oversized, can be worn anywhere and has a saucy little pattern on the back.  I died when Neimans slashed the price and then put it on super sale!  I scooped it up when Em and I had our girls day and I have been living in it ever since. Click here! 2.  Tory Burch Cora Dress I have been coveting this dress!  But literally couldn't bring myself to buy it because of the outrageous price.  I blogged about it previously but still didn't pull the trigger.  When Nordstrom slashed the price I put my Christmas money to good use and finally bought it.  I LOVE this dress.  It is so great and I will absolutely be able to wear it into the spring.   Click here! 3.  J

New Years Resolutions

Happy New Years Day lovelies!!  I hope you had a great NYE and your head isn't hurting too bad :)   xoxo 1.  New Years Resolutions I know we are all thinking about our New Years Resolutions.  I am cooking a classic New Years meal and then the hubs and I are going to discuss our resolutions.  Mine aren't going to be anything earth shattering this year.  I truly want to have authentic, attainable goals that make me a better person, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.   I saw this article a few day ago and I think the author hits the nail on the head!  I love the idea of being nice to yourself, crossing things of your bucket list and putting families first.   No matter what you decide I hope 2015 is your best year yet! Happy Day this and thatters!  Are you almost ready for NYE?!  I have lots of shopping to do today but will be ready for NYE in no time.   I hope you and yours had an excellent 2014 and are gearing up for any even better year in 2015!  You all mean so much to me and my hope and prayer is that 2015 is the best and brightest for you yet.   xoxo 1.  We had a great weekend but a busy one!  I had one of my best friends and her daughters over for lunch.  Her mom and her aunt came as well as we bought our house from her aunt (it really is a small world).  I totally meant to take pictures of my table because I loved the way it looked but I didn't get around to it:(   I served chicken salad sammies on croissants (always a good choice), Ina Garten's Feta Couscous Salad and then a big green salad with goat cheese, pecans and pears.  I also made Ina Garten's champagne vinaigrette and it was delicious.  The links to Ina's recipes are below. Hello lovely readers!  I hope you and yours had an amazing holiday.  We had such a fun, memorable Christmas!  It was our first Christmas in our new house and the first time for me to host Christmas lunch.  Both were so much fun!  We made memories I will treasure in my heart for many years to come.   I hope you had a special holiday and are gearing up for an amazing New Years! xoxo 1.  Christmas Day Attire What to wear on Christmas Day can be hard because I want to be comfy but stylish at the same time.  I knew I would be in the kitchen so I didn't want a big sweater or anything that would make me too warm.  I snagged this top on sale at J.Crew and it was the perfect thing to wear.  I will be sporting this all winter long!   Click here! 2.  Nordstrom Poncho I got this amazing poncho as a gift and I have been living in it.  I put it over PJs when I'm cold or wear it with all black to run errands.  It is soft and just the right thing to throw on right now.

Some Random Goodies and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Happy Day this and thatters!  Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I couldn't be more excited.  I love this time of year and even though it is crazy and hectic it still makes me happy.   The other morning I was the only one up (that never happens but Em and the hubs were having a sleeping contest) and I sat in front of our tree, drinking tea and feeling so happy.  I will be so sad when it's time to take down the decorations and this season is over!   Until then I'm soaking up every bit of Christmas I can!  I will be back in a week or so with more posts.  Until then thank you for reading it's the best Christmas gift I could ever receive and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!  xoxo 1.  The Honest Company Deodorant I have to tell you that while I was pregnant I read a very alarming article about the ingredients in deodorant.  It was very upsetting to me the harsh chemicals that are in antiperspirants and deodorants.  I actually asked my dad about it and he said he had been using a natu

Happy Saturday readers!!  I hope you and yours had a fantastic week and are gearing up for the holidays.   Until then enjoy this edition of what's what. xoxo 1.  Friday Nights In I have a confess to make I love Friday nights in!  No plans, no rules and nothing to do sounds heavenly doesn't it?!  After a crazy week there's nothing I love more than ordering in and relaxing.   Last night the hubs had guys night and Em wanted to go to bed early (I swear) so I had the whole evening to myself.  I loved catching up on reality tv, eating pizza and spoiling Mae.  It was just the reset button I needed :) 2.  The Better Sweater I love a great sweater, cardigan combo you can throw on over jeans or black pants to finish off your outfit.  I saw this amazing sweater the other day on Nordstrom.com and was super excited it was on sale.  It comes in fabulous colors but I opted for black.  I know I will wear it all the time. Keeping It Positive

Happy Holidays sweet readers!  I hope you are having a great holiday season.  I know it's hard to keep your perspective right now because of the mile long to do list you are facing.   I will tell you that I have gotten overwhelmed a few times here and there.  Have you?!  I have to tell you that a few things are helping me keep my perspective these days and I hope they help you too.   Enjoy!   xoxo 1.  Sweet Friends So during this hectic time of trying to do everything and be everything I have some super sweet friends who are there always reminding me of what's important.  I  believe true friends who are always there, always consistent are few and far between (in my experience).  These friends are amazing during the holiday season.  They remind you of what's important, don't make you feel guilty, are always consistent in how they treat you and love you unconditionally.  To these friends I thank you, I love you more than you know and you are my best gift this

All I Want For Christmas.....

Happy day this and thatters!   I have been busy worrying about what I should get everyone for Christmas too busy to think about what I want.  Ha!  To be honest I don't need one single thing.  I am a happy clam and shop enough for myself ;) In any event I decided I should at least provide my loved ones with somewhat of a list!  So here it is all I want for Christmas. Ho, Ho, Ho xoxo 1.  Tory Burch Cora Dress Click here! I have been drooling over this tory burch dress but haven't pulled the trigger because of the hefty price tag.  However it's on super sale this weekend so it's not too bad :) 2.  Hanna Andersen PJ's I love super, softy matching pj's, who doesn't?!  These from Hanna Andersen are at the top of my list. Staying Positive

Happy Day this and thatters! I hope you and yours are doing fantastic.   I have to tell you that I'm really trying to keep my perspective this holiday season (and failing at it more often times than not).  The hubs and I have both been extremely busy at work which leaves little time for anything else.  The hubs has been leaving at 5 a.m. and coming home around 8 p.m.  He's exhausted! I have been working hard and then trying to hold down the fort (so to speak) on my own so he can work as hard as he needs to right now.  We have been treading along like this for a few weeks.  Work, sleep, repeat.  Throw in the chaos of the holidays, Christmas shopping, parties and a thousand obligations and you guessed it we hit a wall. Nothing particularly crazy happened I just hit a point where I felt like I needed a break.  I called the hubs while he was at work and had a break down.  He in turn confirmed he's ridiculously stressed out as well.  We got it all out that this set up of

Happy Saturday this and thatters!  I hope you and yours are having a fantastic weekend. xoxo 1.  Holiday Party Wear Is it just me or is trying to find something to wear to holiday parties hard?  I feel like everything  is so casual these days.  I'm not going to walk into Christmas parties in a ball gown but I still want to look dressy and appropriate.   I have found a few options I'm considering this holiday season that I think would be fun and festive! Devon Baer Top How cute is this top?!  I fell in love with it.  I think it would look amazing paired with leggings are black skinny jeans depending on the party.   Click here! Top Shop Fur Vest I love the idea of throwing on a fur vest over a simple black outfit to make it more fun!  I will definitely being do this with my top shop vest.  I love the simplicity of it and how it allows you to be more playful with make up and jewelry. When You Get Your Feelings Hurt

Hey sweet readers!  How are you today?!  I apologize for being gone for a few days but read below and you will see why. xoxo I have been really wrestling with this idea of when people hurt your feelings.  How do you handle it?  What do you say?  Do you say anything?   Have you ever struggled with this? A few days ago I was buying my friend a baby gift.  I was wondering what she might want and so I searched for a registry   She didn't have one which isn't that unusual with a second child.  I went over to Babies R Us and bought her a gift I would want in her shoes.   As soon as I did I thought on no did I miss something?!  Maybe she did say what she wanted somewhere else.  So I went to her Facebook page to see if she had alluded to anything she might want.  What I found was her having a baby shower with our group of friends.   I felt like I had been punched in  the stomach.  This same group of friends offered to give me a baby shower when I was pregnant.  I declined.

What's In My Make Up Bag

Hello lovelies?! I hope you and yours are doing well and gearing up for turkey day.   Recently, I had to revamp my skincare routine.  My skin was going haywire and I'm not sure if that was because of stress, age or hormones.  Either way I had to do some research and make some changes.  I found a couple of different solutions I can't wait to share! xoxo 1.  Dr. Gross's Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel I found these awesome wipes last time I got a facial.  It was probably the best facial I've ever had.  I was at the Ritz at Lake Oconee so it should have been :) The woman who gave me my facial was awesome and gave me great feedback on what to do and not to do with my skin.  She said if you only buy one product, buy this one, and she was absolutely right.   You use these pads once a day after cleansing your face (normally in the morning) and they are life changing.  They do wonders for wrinkles, pores and blemishes.   Click here! 2.  Rodan & Fie

Happy Weekend Lovers!!  It's been a great week for me and I hope it has been for you.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out what's what.  Enjoy! xoxo 1.  Parenting Books So I know it might be controversial to recommend parenting books.  The only reason I say that is when I asked for recommendations on Facebook people were pretty intense, ha!  I will say that trusting your gut is absolutely the best way to go.  If you want to read up these are my fav! *All of the What To Expect Books (pregnancy, 1st year, 2nd year) Click here! *Happiest Baby on the Block and Happiest Toddler on the Block Click here! *Elevating Child Care:  A Guide to Respectful Parenting Click here! *Moms On Call Click here! 2.  Beanie I wasn't always sure I could pull off a beanie (I'm still not) but it's soo cold already I had to get past my vanity and worry about warmth.  I did a lot of sea
