Spring Has Sprung For John Wind Jewelry

Image
I'm a sucker for jewelry and I love great, statement pieces as well as smaller, one of a kind options as well. I stumbled upon John Wind the other day and become a devotee.  He does amazing things with initials and his jewelry has a very distinctive vintage, Victorain feel which I love.  His pieces are unique, classic and a must have for spring!

Spring Has Sprung for Cape Cod Leather

There is nothing I love more than great, functional handbag that also looks amazing!  I am always on the hunt for my next great bag.  I recently purchased a super cute Tory for spring.  I just loved the blue and that it had a long strap so I could wear it across my body if need be.  I also stumbled upon cape cod leather and fell in love with their equestrian bag.  I love the buttery yellow color of the bag and the hardware is to die for.  The price is also very reasonable!!  This bag will not only carry me through the summer but into the fall.

Spring Has Sprung For Emma Graham

Image
You probably haven't heard of Emma Graham yet but believe me you will!  They are two best friends who decided to start designing clothes that were stylish and moderately priced.  I love, love their design aesthetic and their creativity.  I like that their dresses are unique, fashionable and conservative!  I will be wearing Emma Graham to weddings, showers and maybe even the grocery store :)  this spring!

Spring Has Sprung (or is it summer)!!!

Image
How amazing is this weather!!!  I am so happy for spring, although I think we have skipped spring and headed straight into summer.  Of no consequence I am thrilled for dinners out on the porch, blooming flowers, beach trips, fun sundresses and any excuse to be outside. We are knee deep in home renovations and as I type this our stairs in the entry way are being removed and new treads are being put in.  I can't wait to show you the before, during and after.  Next we will move on to new carpet and painting throughout.  I can't wait to see the final product.  In the mean time I have been doing some spring cleaning and closet consolidation.  My neighbor and bestie helped me organize all my clothes yesterday and let me know I probably needed to be put on shopping restriction for a while :)  She is exactly right!!  My restriction has not kept me from finding some amazing things for spring and as soon as the ban has been lifted I will be diving into these fabulous spring item

Working Girl Rules: Keep Your Perspective

Image
For this edition of working girl rules I decided to talk about the hardest rule for me which is keeping your perspective.  This one is hard because I think it is really easy to lose your perspective and vision when you are tired, working too hard, or are in a bad mood.  Sometimes I think we let work become our entire life and that causes us to lose our perspective.  Work for me has always been a great source of pride and self-esteem which is great but you have to be careful.  You can't let work become your singular focus because it will make you less productive.  I know some people don't believe that but I truly feel like well rounded people make the most amazing co-workers and employees. I think it is important to create a balance in your life that includes family, exercise, hobbies and work.  I think allowing yourself to explore other areas makes you appreciate your work life and then excel in it.  Listen I have been the one first to the office and last to leave and I d

Happy Birthday Mankey!

Image
Today is my sister's birthday!  That's her Amanda Holley Jones but known to those who love her as Mankey, Mank Jank, or the Mank. I am really excited to get to spend her actual birthday with her.  We always try to do something special around our birthday since hers is March 23 and mine is April 24.  This year we are going to spend the night in downtown Athens and have some girl time!  Back in the day before husbands we use to spend all our free time together and I miss it.  I am beyond excited to have some fun one on one time with each other in one of our favorite places. So here is to my mankey the most amazing, strong, honest, loyal, funny, and sweet sister a gal could ask for!  Happy Birthday!  I love you.

Fabulous Finds: Skirtin Around

Image
OMG how cute is the name skirtin around for a clothing line?!  I fell in love with the name and the super cute preppy clothes.  I love, love all the colors and patterns they use.  They have some amazingly cute items for spring and summer!  The story behind Skirtin Around is really cute.  The designer started out by making flattering skirts for herself and her friends.  This love blossomed into a clothing line that is now in over 350 stores across the country. I love her designs and can't wait to wear them this spring and summer!!

What'll Ya Have?!

Image
Soo how are all the beauty product lovers today?!  I was thinking about the products I have been using lately and was laughing about the fact that when I walked into Sephora the other day the sales gal looked at me and said "what will you have?"  It was kinda funny, reminded me of the Varisty and we both busted out laughing. She was clearly embarrassed and I was clearly amused.  But it got me thinking about how great it would be if there was a store that carried all the high end make-ups as well as the drug store brands I love.  It would be so great to walk in and have them yell "What'll ya have?" and be able to customize exactly what you need in a one stop shop! I know there are store like Ulta but they don't carry everything and frankly amazon.com is the only place I can buy everything at once.  Hopefully someday my "What'll ya have?" concept will take over in the beauty space (and not just be limited to the Varsity).  Until that time

Fabulous Finds: Tracy Negoshian

Image
How amazing is this weather?!  I absolutely love it.  I got my nails and toes painted a fun springy red/pink and now I am ready to break out all of my sandals, white jeans and fun dresses!  I was doing some shopping the other day and stumbled upon Tracy Negoshian and I think she might be my new go to for fun, functional and affordable spring and summer clothes! I ordered the cutest jumper from her and this amazing tunic!  Her clothes fit very well and the price point is amazing!  Also, she does some really cute game day dresses as well. Check her out and lemme know what you think.

Spring Fling: The Make Up Edition

Image
Spring time makes me wanna shop not just for clothes but for make up as well!!  I want bright, fresh new colors in my make up bag and fun new eyeshadows to play with as well.  I did some make up bag shopping this week and found some amazingly fun items for spring!  Enjoy! 1.  MAC Viva La Glam VI Lip Gloss Omg this lip gloss is my new favorite find!  It is the picture shade of pink and stays on...novel concept.  This is my new go to lip gloss for spring! 2.  Eye Rock Is this amazing product that I found through birch box!  It is instant eyeliner that comes to you in packs of four that you can trim down (if needed) and apply to your eye and bam you get an instant cat eye (for example)!  I was a little weary of these but they work great when you are wearing them. 3.  MAC Satin Taupe Eye Shadow Is so great!  It is the perfect grey, purple kinda color that is hard to explain but looks beautiful on.  It goes great with black or brown eyeliner and looks great no matt

Working Girl Rules: Work Hard/Know Your Business

Image
For this edition of working girl rules I decided to talk about working hard and knowing your business.  This might be the most important rule for a number of reasons.  First of all I am a big believer that working hard can make you successful in most things.  You might not be the smartest, or the most experienced person at the table but if you are willing to work the hardest you will end up winning in the end.  The ability to go the extra mile is often times what separates the winners from the losers. I have won some great battles at work because of hard work.  I have heard the old saying "work smart not hard" but I don't really agree with that.   I think you have to do both work hard and work smart.  I made a promise to myself years ago that I would never lose a battle because I was out worked by someone else.  The second part of the rule is knowing your business.  I have a dear friend that I have worked with for many years and we were talking the other day about h
