What's On My Nighstand

Hello fellow book lovers and blog reading lovers!  I hope you are well and having a fantastic week. 

I've been thinking about what books I wanted to feature this week and decided to go with some of my tried and true favorites.  Happy reading!

1.  Between, Georgia

Ok I love this book!  It is such a great read about small town life and the plot line will keep you guessing.  I highly recommend this one!




2.  Glass Castle

Is an amazing true story about the author who pretty much grew up homeless with her parents and siblings.  Her nomadic lifestyle and her parents crazy and irresponsible decisions are often times hard to believe.  I couldn't put this book down and have actually re-read it.





3.  Dead End Gene Pool

Is an incredible story about the Vanderbilt family at the height of their wealth.  The story is told by a family member and offers incredible insight into how the family handled business, family issues and adversity.  You will be shocked my some of the revelations!

4.  The Best Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

I have owned this book for a number of years and I love it!  Whenever I am looking for a great quote, blessing or poem for a wedding or baby shower I turn to this book.  There is a beautiful introduction by Caroline Kennedy.  This truly is one of my most cherished books.

At Home Facial Favs

Happy Monday!  I hope you and yours had a great weekend.   On Sunday I gave myself an at home facial and documented some of it on my instastories and got 100 questions, ha!  So I figured I would share what I used here.   The first question I got was the frequency in which I do at home facials and I don't do them as much as I want to or probably should.  I aim for once a week but it's probably every other week.  I love going to a spa and getting a kick ass facial but there isn't always time and sometimes they can be pricey so I've developed an at home routine for myself. I will say as I get older my skin is changing so I'm having to investigate new and different products.  My skin is sensitive, prone to breakouts and can be super dry and super oily so it's a constant juggle for me to find products that actually work for me.  Recently I've been using a ton of philosophy products and I have loved every, single one of them so far!  I also love that you get

A Sad Season

I have to tell you that these past few months and perhaps this year have been hard and yes sad.  My mother told me when we were talking about it that I was experiencing "a sad season" and I have to agree. Now this doesn't mean that everything has been awful, sad and terrible.  I haven't been in bed for weeks at a time with the covers over my head watching trash tv.  Instead I feel like it has been one of those times were the hits just keep on coming.  The bad news just keeps rolling in like ocean waves.  It has been a time of tremendous loss and sadness.  The events that have occurred aren't the same but it felt like every time I would get my ahead above water something else would happen.   It has been difficult because there are happy times mixed in to all of the sad.  In those times of happiness I have genuinely tried to be in the moment but my heart wasn't in the right place.  My heart has not felt happy and there has been an undercurrent of sadness tha
